Overdraft Protection
All of our Totally Free and NOW Checking Account customers are able to apply for our overdraft line of credit which provides protection from overdrawing your account. Upon approval, we will extend a line of credit to you. If you overdraw your account, we will automatically transfer the exact amount of any overdraft you incur up to your available credit limit.
All Deposits Insured in Full
At Bank of Easton, every deposit is insured in full. Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) deposit insurance temporarily increased from $100,000 to $250,000 per depositor through December 31, 2013. All deposits above the FDIC limits are insured in full by the Share Insurance Fund (SIF) of Massachusetts. No one provides better deposit protection!
Notice of Changes in Temporary FDIC Insurance Coverage for Transaction Accounts
All funds in a noninterest bearing transaction account” are insured in full by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation from December 31, 2010 to December 31, 2012. This temporary unlimited coverage is in addition to, and separate from, the coverage of at least $250,000 available to depositor’s under the FDIC’s general deposit insurance rules.
The term "noninterest bearing transaction account" includes a traditional checking account or demand deposit account on which the insured depository institution pays no interest. It does not include other accounts, such as traditional checking or demand deposit accounts that may earn interest, NOW accounts, and money market deposit accounts.
